Managing our environmental impact at The Bath Half 2025

Find out what steps we are taking to manage the environmental impacts of this incredible event.

Pre event

  • Our entry system offers everyone the choice of having a tree planted instead of having a Finisher T-shirt through our partnership with Avon Needs Trees
  • Runners can also choose to not take a medal and to have a unique finish-line photo with Bath Half selfie frames
  • You.Smart.Thing. travel planning tool helps participants with their travel plans - highlighting the lowest carbon travel methods and offering the option to make a voluntary donation to remove the carbon emissions associated with their travel

On the day

  • The finisher’s medal is made from recycled zinc alloy
  • Kitbags are made from sugarcane, a type of bioplastic that is recyclable
  • Event T-shirts are made from 100% recycled polyester
  • There will be tap water refill stations at the start area and at the finish as well as at points around the course
  • The cups we use are compostable (and are sent for composting)
  • Generators are powered with HVO (a vegetable oil fuel that replaces diesel)
  • Cups used for water stations are composted
  • Many of the event vehicles are electric
  • Bike parking is available at the festival area
