2025 Swim Serpentine The Course

The course

Before Event Day, familiarise yourself with the route.

Here's what’s on offer, from toilets to changing rooms.

All participants swim in a clockwise direction

You will swim around large inflatable buoys that mark the course from the Start to the Finish.

At each end of the course, there are four large pink buoys to indicate you must turn 180 degrees. Faster swimmers can overtake slower swimmers here by swimming close to the turning buoys. There will be several smaller red buoys indicating the way for more leisurely swimmers to enjoy a wider turn around.

Changing facilities

There are male, female and non-binary changing facilities before the Start Area (dry change) and after the Finish (wet change). Once you’ve changed, you can drop off your kitbag.

Toilets

Toilets are available at the Start and Finish Area.

If you have a bladder or bowel condition, register for a Just Can’t Wait Toilet Card. It’s issued by the Bladder and Bowel Community and explains that you need urgent access. There are bladder pads at the Information Points and Drinks Stations.

There are tampons and sanitary towels at the Information Point.

Water

Bottled water will be provided after your swim and concessions stands will be available if you’d like to buy any other drinks or food. If you have a bottle in your kitbag, you’ll also find a water refill point.

Need a moment?

Please use our quiet space, family space (for breastfeeding/pumping and entertaining young children), or multi-faith prayer space in the Finish Area.

Are you cycling to the event?

There is a bike park on site available on a first-come, first-served basis.
